Galileo 4 Mobility open call for Small Scale Pilots
Are you a transport operator or public authority? Then the Galileo 4 Mobility project is looking for you!
Galileo 4 Mobility, which aims to support the introduction of Galileo satellite technology within the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) context, has launched an Open Call for Small-scale pilots. Through the call, Galileo 4 Mobility aims to select additional demonstration sites (the Small-scale pilots) where technological solutions developed by project partners can be tested.
By providing transport operators and public authorities with the opportunity to test project innovations concerning geolocation, Galileo 4 Mobility aims to further expand and promote the benefits of using Galileo technology for shared mobility services.
The two technologies developed within the project that will be made available to selected applicants are an On-Board Unit (OBU) and an On-Demand Bus Platform. The Small-scale pilots will consist of a demonstration of the OBU technology and, if suitable for the proposed pilot service, the On-Demand Bus Platform for a period of one month maximum, by equipping one or two vehicles per pilot with Galileo satellite technology.
The total budget available for the open call is €24,000, which will be allocated equally among all participants down to a minimum of €3,000 per participant in case of reaching a limit of 8 participants. The budget is meant to partially or totally cover the following expenses:
• Implementation of the proposed service in the platform, in case of requesting the use of the On-Demand Bus Platform.
• Integration of the OBU technology in the vehicle.
• Driver costs during the operation of the pilot, in case of testing the technology on a service which is being set up within the framework of this open call.
• Analysis of the benefits of the provided technology for the pilot service.
